It will be rather cloudy through the day with scattered showers, most frequent over Orkney, these wintry at times for Shetland. Northeasterly winds easing during the morning. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers continuing into this evening but these mostly easing off with cloud clearing to leave prolonged clear spells. Feeling cold. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Friday 5th April:

Mainly dry and bright at first on Friday but heavy rain soon pushing up from the south across Orkney, reaching Shetland by midday. Outbreaks of rain continuing through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Heavy rain Saturday morning clearing to sunny spells but also very strong winds. Sunny spells and strong winds continue Sunday morning, outbreaks of rain into the afternoon, persisting Monday.
