The settled weather continues with all expected to stay dry for the morning and afternoon with some brighter spells breaking through the rather cloudy skies. Fresh southeasterly winds occasionally strong over Orkney. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud gradually thickening and lowering through the evening to bring some showers overnight, with a few heavier outbreaks possible. Winds southeasterly fresh. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday 2nd September:

Rather cloudy with rain or showers, light during the morning , then turning persistent and heavy for the afternoon. Fresh southeast winds easing late evening across Orkney. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday beginning overcast with rain, drizzle, fog patches, clearing to brighter spells and showers for the afternoon. Wednesday, Thursday mainly dry, occasionally bright, but chance rain for time later Wednesday.
