This year Northlight Gallery in Stromness is inviting everyone, young and old, to make a handmade card or small artwork on the theme of KINDNESS to exhibit in Northlight for Fair Saturday Scotland on the 30th November.

Fair Saturday Scotland is our contribution to the international celebration of Fair Saturday which is a global mobilisation that aims to create a positive social impact following Black Friday, the greatest expression of consumerism. Artists and cultural organisations from across Scotland and all around the world will get together in a global movement with one requirement: to support a social cause of their choice through their event.
For the past six years Fiona Grahame and Martin Laird have collaborated to make exhibitions for Fair Saturday Scotland in Northlight Gallery: the first in 2018 was ‘Woman’s Suffrage – a work in progress’, followed by ‘HMS Pheasant – who were the lost men and boys’, ‘The Rousay Clearances – Exodus from the Egypt of the North’, ‘Rebel Orkney’, ‘Orcadian Stories’, and last year, ‘The Strawplaiters of Orkney’. All in support of ORSAS, Orkney Rape and Sexual Assault Service.
Tuesday 25th November is the deadline to bring exhibits to the gallery. If no one is in the gallery to receive them call Cary on 851194, she lives so close to the gallery that you won’t wait for long for her to reach you.
