We’ve eaten at the Dashing Deer at the Deerness Distillery – and loved it,

So we thought we’d go again in time to catch the Christmas/New Year vibe.

We were greeted at the door by…deer!

three little deer with Christmas lights on

Then into the Restaurant, which was very Christmassy – the dreich day outside didn’t matter at all

Mike had mushrooms in truffle-oil pie with chips and veg, and I had cheese & onion patties with chips and coleslaw – the patties were gorgeous!

Even the music was good –  a Spotify selection of 70’s classics, and not too loud as is often the case in cafes and restaurants.  Here’s a taste of the play-list…

‘Heroes’ – Bowie

‘Heart of Glass’ – Blondie

‘Roxanne’ – The Police

‘The Joker’ – Steve Miller Band

‘Because the Night’ – Patti Smith.

‘The Passenger’ – Iggy Pop

‘Nuff said,

We had a look in the Christmassy shop, full of good things

And then home, but we’ll definitely be back next year!
