Overnight rain clears Orkney early morning, then Shetland mid-morning, with sunny spells developing. A few isolated showers are possible in the afternoon, but mostly dry. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Some late evening sunshine and a few isolated showers. Dry to start the night with high cloud increasing. Cloud thickens overnight. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday 4 August: YELLOW WARNING WIND

Outbreaks of rain spread north through the morning, turning heavy at times with southeast gales at times. Winds falling light across Orkney for a time, but northwest severe gales later. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Northwest gales gradually easing on Tuesday with rain across Shetland. A few showers and fresh winds Wednesday. Another spell of rain and gales on Thursday.
