Frequent, often heavy snow showers throughout the day, but turning to rain or sleet at the end of the day across Shetland. Feeling bitterly cold in strong northerly winds, increasing to gale force by evening across Shetland. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Frequent heavy rain, sleet and some snow showers through this evening and overnight with strong to gale force northerly winds. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Thursday 20 November :

Frequent, often heavy rain, sleet and occasionally snow showers for much of the day, but showers becoming more isolated in the evening. Strong northerly winds gradually easing. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cold dry start to Friday. Rain spreads east later. Less cold over the weekend with a mix of dry sunny spells, some showers or longer spells of rain.
