The poet Kenneth Steven will be reading at an Orkney Arts Society event entitled Wildscapes at Stromness Kirk on Thursday 16 April at 7:30pm.
Kenneth Steven is first and foremost a Scottish poet, with some 18 collections in print. He’s written and presented numerous features and essays for BBC Radio. He’s perhaps become best-known for collections inspired by the island of Iona and the Celtic Christian story and his volume of selected poems of faith Atlantic was published by Cascade Books in the summer of 2025. But he’s known too for his many poems of wildscape inspired by childhood years in Highland Perthshire. His work aims to reach as wide an audience as possible; his simple, clear style is intended to attract people to poetry who might not have been readers previously.
