By Bernie Bell.

It was longer than we thought, since we’d been to Rose Ness

Having put various health issues behind us, we set off on another fine Sunday and saw much the same main features but, as always, some  things we hadn’t noticed before.

This will mostly be pictures…here goes

We stood by the Gloup again, hearing it ‘gloup’ while a skylark sang high above

A pic of the central orthostat in the cairn – note the hole in the bank above the stone

Mike got right down, reached into the hole with his arm and took some pictures – which are a bit vague but show that there is stonework in there.

Goose prints by an appealing pool

Grass looking like………?

tufts of grass across a field

I hadn’t noticed that there’s a double cross on top of the Beacon, and wondered what the significance is/was?

We got arty at the lighthouse – I likes Lichen

Looking up

the metal of the man made structure

Grass being groovy again

tufts of grass across a field

The beacon & the lighthouse

The cairn & the cliffs

On the way back, we noticed the remains of a stile in the wall – both sides

A reminder of times past.

  1. Cool pictures! That grass is what my hair looks like most mornings. 🙂
