By Bernie Bell.

We went to West Cork for my nephew’s wedding, and made a holiday of it.   Part of that holiday was a visit to the Ewe Garden Sculpture Trail.

After 33 years, the Ewe Garden Sculpture Trail will close on the 30th of August this year.  I’m hoping they manage to sell it, and it continues as it is.  And what is – is a wonder-full place.

I decided to put together images of my favourite pieces from the Trail – lots of pictures of clever, thought provoking, or funny things – as an homage to the place and a hope that it will continue

I can imagine a similar game board in use in past times

As a big fan of Led Zeppelin, I couldn’t resist a Stairway to Heaven!

And a spiral dish

Which I included in this piece…

large round light globe like feature

We have a big flower pot filled with earth, on top of which we place a water-dish for the birds. Mike empties the dish, cleans it and re-fills it every day – I took a pic. of the dip it’s made in the earth, which produced a similar image

Life imitating art.

If you’re having a holiday in West Cork…get it while you can!
