Community groups are being encouraged to apply for the Scottish Government’s Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund
Orkney Men’s Shed is one of several organisations which will benefit from the Scottish Government funding

David was anxious about falling into debt and was having a “hard battle just to try to keep warm.” Feelings of loneliness and isolation were increasing
“It is, therefore, important that we make sure that no one is left behind and recognise loneliness is an experience that can happen anywhere and for anyone. “
Local family support charity, Home-Start Orkney, are raising awareness of Loneliness Awareness Week (14th – 20th June) and the impact of loneliness and isolation on parents and young children.
