Two more cases have been added to the cumulative total for Orkney bringing that to 51.
In Orkney the cumulative total now stands at 49, and although the lowest in the country no one in the islands should become complacent.
Over 80% of residents in our care homes have already received their first vaccinations and over half of staff in those care homes have also been vaccinated.
Orkney which for so long had few Covid positive cases has seen recent increases and today, 9th of January, has recorded a cumulative total of 45.
Every Health Board in Scotland has recorded positive test results for Covid today, 8th of January. Orkney’s cumulative total now stands at 42.
The public is being urged to not drop their guard as positive cases of Covid19 continue to rise. Today’s figures also saw the first increase in Orkney for several days bringing in the cumulative total in the islands to 41.
Orkney is to remain in Level 3 and mainland Scotland in Level 4 but with increased limitations and which activities can take place.
The rise in positive cases across every Health Board area in Scotland is why it is so important for everyone to continue to take care when they are out and about.
