The Orkney News joined the crowds on the streets of Kirkwall to watch the art installation on the walls of St Magnus Cathedral to remember the fallen in World War 1.
Helen Woodsford-Dean and Ragnhild Ljosland led a guided walk retracing the route the condemned would have taken.
It will run on a loop eight times from 5pm each evening between now and Remembrance Day on 11 November.
