We had a most enjoyable veterans breakfast at Eats N Treats Kirkwall on Saturday 31st March. The chefs “Special” of Boston beans with lamb was delightfully spicy. Bring it on Chef !
It was nice to see Mark back again. Mark a former US Marine was asked “why Orkney”? He replied ” I gave my family the choice of Orkney or Hawaii and they chose Orkney” That speaks volumes for Orkney.
Also good to see Anthea a former ATC Person with the RAF.

We were all delighted when Eats n Treats presented us with a chocolate cake with 100 in white icing and candles in the numbers to celebrate the RAF’s 100 year birthday.
Simon had me accept it “as I was the most senior” I grumbled at that, after all Anthea was a Flight sergeant and I was a Sergeant. He then said age so I gave in as I was the oldest RAF present.

We couldn’t finish the cake after a good breakfast so it was shared with the other customers of the cafe.
