Shelter for SiMBA

By Nick Morrison

Tuesday saw the installation of a shelter built by Orkney Mens Shed for the charity SiMBA at their gardens in Kirkwall.

SiMBA

We hope to do an  in depth article on SiMBA

SiMBA was founded by a team of dedicated individuals in October 2005 in response to the needs of those affected by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or close to the time of birth. SiMBA was officially registered as a Scottish Charity in 2007.

It was fitting that the last planks of the shelter were fixed in place by a Grandfather whose family were so affected.

The SiMBA gardens in kirkwall are looked after by the BLIDE Trust.

Karis Christie and David Sneesby were at the gardens and to see and take pics of the new shelter. They are planning upgrades to the garden. The garden itself is surprisingly calm and peaceful for being in the centre of the city. The bustle of the city is muted both by the surrounding stone walls and the vegetation.
