Wintry showers continuing with some bright or clear spells. North to northeast winds mainly moderate. Remaining cold with a risk of ice and lying snow. Maximum temperature 3 °C.
Tonight:
Wintry showers will continue, heavy and frequent at times. Often of rain or sleet through this evening, particularly over Orkney, but more likely of snow overnight. Frost and ice. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Friday 16th December:
Wintry showers dying out over Shetland, but continuing across Orkney, although turning to rain later in the day. Winds mainly light. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Less cold with rain or showers on Saturday, turning windy with southeastely gales on Sunday, heavy rain later. Rain or showers on Monday with winds easing.
