National Records of Scotland have published the weekly deaths register for Scotland on 29th June 2023
- The provisional total number of deaths registered in Scotland in week 25 of 2023 (19th to 25th June) was 1,042 (12 or 1% below the 5-year average).
- In week 25 there were 13 deaths involving COVID-19 (1 fewer than the previous week).
- As of 25th June 2023, there have been a total of 17,694 deaths registered in Scotland where the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was mentioned on the death certificate.

Age 15 – 44: 1 death, male
Age 45 – 64: 0 deaths
Age 65 – 74: 4 deaths, 1 female, 3 male
Age 75 – 84: 3 deaths, 1 female, 2 male
Age 85+ : 5 deaths, 4 female, 1 male

Four of the deaths were in Care Homes and 9 in Hospital. Of the 13 deaths involving Covid, Covid was the underlying cause in 5 of them.
There were 1,042 deaths due to all causes, 12 fewer than the 5 year average. However, there were excess deaths in Cancer +7 and Other Causes +37
