A dry day with good sunny spells across Shetland. Cloudier over Orkney with scattered showers. Winds will be light and variable over Orkney, and light mainly from the north over Shetland. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Scattered showers will continue through the evening and overnight across Orkney, turning heavier overnight. Remaining mainly dry across Shetland with some clear spells. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Tuesday 8th August:

Mainly dry. Early morning showers over Orkney clearing to the south leaving sunny spells, but cloud builds over Shetland. Strengthening northwest winds, becoming near gale over Shetland in the evening. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy but dry Wednesday, strong northwest winds easing. Dry and warm with light winds and some sunny spells Thursday. Rain spreading north on Friday.
