In the garden…

Pheasants, courting among the daffodils – Mrs. Pheasant playing hard to get!

It’s either a very big Hare – or a very small Broch!

Moss on Stone – Arc of Light….

Our neighbours were clearing their veg patch in preparation for this year’s planting when they found two pairs of frogs, mating! They put them in a plastic tub with some water and brought them to us.

We gently released them into our pond.

A couple of days later we noticed a big new clump of spawn. As most of the spawn in our pond has now hatched or is very near to doing so, we think this must be from the ‘imported’ frogs – all adding to the life in the pond……

      You’re welcome- memories of Orkney!

  2. Sigh. Here in the capital of Canada, the world is mostly brown and grey. The evergreens are green, of course. And I’ve heard that there are some crocuses on the Quebec side of the river. As usual, Orkney is way ahead of us. Our weather forecasts still don’t rule out the chance of snow.
