I haven’t walked the full circuit from our house for a good while, and thought it’s the time of year to do so to see the spring flowers and new life in general. So we did this walk….
…in reverse.
In the ditch by the road to the Bay of Hinderayre – the first Flaggers I’ve seen this year

And a bank of fresh, new Ferns

By the shore, Thrift

Along the track, and turning up from the Kirkyard – young heifers, interested as usual

Walking up the track to the T-junction, Purple Vetch

A bank of Buttercups

And a lovely clump of Red clover

By the track down to the Hall of Rendall, Birds-foot Trefoil

Bullocks, with Gairsay in the back-ground

A single magnificent Fern

Then, by the little path to the Doocot, a patch of mixed Ladies-Smock, Orchids, Daisies and Buttercups

Plus Horse-tails

And – could be Water-cress or could be Fools-cress – it fooled us!

On the way back, by the side of the main road, an old stone stile which we’ve never noticed before

– there’s always something new to see!
