The John Rae Society will be commemorating the birthday of Arctic explorer Dr John Rae on Wednesday 30 September. A warm welcome is extended to interested members of the public who also wish to mark the occasion.

The commemoration will be held at the graveside of Dr John Rae in the St Magnus Kirkyard at 12 noon – meeting up first at the gates (where the War Memorial is) at 11.30am where they will be led by a piper to a short ceremony at Rae’s graveside.
