Priority 2 and 3 roads (back roads) have not been assessed or treated yet since overnight and there is the likelihood of encountering deep drifts.
Police Scotland and Orkney Islands Council are urging people not to venture out on the county’s roads unless their journey is absolutely essential.
The Ring of Brodgar in Orkney looks impressive at any time but even more so when it is covered in a layer of snow.
