Orcadians across the county continued with their weekly protest in support of the Black Lives Matter campaign.
On Wednesday, 17th of June at 6pm, across the islands, folk of all ages will be joining in the event which highlights the issue of racism in our communities.

Across Orkney people of all ages took part in a Black Lives Matter event organised by the campaigning group Orkney Resists.
Organised by Orkney Resists, Orcadians took photographs of themselves with messages of support.
“When I first came across the idea of going down on one knee, in memory of George Floyd, I thought that was a disturbing, mistaken approach.”
On Wednesday 3 June at 6pm Stand Up To Racism, backed by Orkney Resists, calls on people to “take the knee” on their doorsteps or wherever they are.
Almost 100 people turned out in support of the Demonstration For Democracy in Kirkwall Orkney yesterday.
The Orkney Picnic of Resistance was very much a family affair, with children and pets there alongside friends and relatives.
